Speak up is about everyone feeling confident to speak up and act on or report inappropriate workplace behaviour or misconduct, whether the behaviour was directed at you or you saw it. We have a secure reporting platform called Whispli which allows you to make reports - anonymously if you prefer.
How to make a report in Whispli
To start a report, you can click the button or scan the QR code below to go to the dedicated CGD Whispli home page on the Whispli internet domain. This ensures your confidentiality and anonymity.
What can be reported?
Reports are able to be made about a CGD employee, member of the public, client, contractor or consultant or a volunteer.
Any reports about Councillor behaviour must be directed to Lisa Roberts, Manager Governance.
Why have an Anonymous Reporting Channel?
Anonymous reporting is critical to empowering people to report suspected misconduct or inappropriate behaviour without fear of retaliation, safely and confidentially. We also know that many inappropriate workplace behaviours go unreported which in turn means things can't be dealt with which in turn can lead to bigger problems and unhealthy workplaces.
Introducing Whispli
To facilitate this anonymous reporting process, we have partnered with Whispli, a trusted and secure platform designed to support whistleblowing and anonymous reporting. Whispli enables you to submit reports without revealing your identity, ensuring your confidentiality is protected throughout the entire reporting process. Whispli's platform has been widely recognised for its advanced security measures and user-friendly interface, making it a valuable tool for anonymous reporting.
Whispli is just another way for staff to report concerns about inappropriate workplace behaviours or sexual harassment.
How Whispli Works
- Share Anonymously: With Whispli, you can make reports anonymously, providing as much or as little information as you're comfortable with.
- Anonymous Communication: Once you submit a report, Whispli's system lets you communicate anonymously with a designated case manager – a member of our Organisational Development team. Your case manager will not know who they are communicating with, and you will not know who in OD you are communicating with (until it is appropriate for them to identify themselves). Behind the scenes, the Whispli system automatically strips metadata and other information such as IP addresses, etc
- Confidentiality and your peace of mind are our top priorities. Rest assured, all reports made through Whispli will be treated with the utmost care, and your identity will remain anonymous unless you choose otherwise.
- Stay in the Loop: Throughout the process, you'll receive updates from your case manager, ensuring you're informed about progress while maintaining your anonymity.
How reports are investigated
Any reports will be investigated in accordance with Council’s existing policies and procedures, like Workplace Behavioural Concerns Resolution policy, Workplace Investigations Procedure and Performance & Behavioural Issues Policy. As always, anyone alleged to have behaved inappropriately is entitled to procedural fairness and natural justice.
Anonymous reporting can limit what outcomes and actions can be taken in response to a report like hindering the ability to conduct a thorough investigation. Anonymity can also make it harder to ensure the well-being and safety of the reporter or victim. Your designated case manager will discuss the advantages and disadvantages with you during the process via Whispli's anonymous chat function.
Confidentiality
We take confidentiality and reports of victimisation very seriously. We want to assure you that all reports made through the Whispli platform will be handled with the utmost care, and your identity will remain anonymous throughout the process unless you choose to reveal it voluntarily. Victimisation is unlawful and we will act against anyone who is found to victimise someone for making a report in good faith.
Remember, it is everyone's responsibility to maintain a respectful and inclusive workplace culture. By reporting inappropriate behavior, you contribute to a positive work environment for yourself and your colleagues.
