Everything the Council produces reflects our brand and influences how the community perceives us. The impact of a message is shaped not only by its content but also by how it is presented.
To maintain a consistent and professional image, it is essential that all Council documents are both well-designed and accessible.
We understand that many departments may not have the budget to engage professional designers. To support you, we’ve developed a set of templates that you can use. These templates include:
- A branded front cover
- Header and footer designs for internal pages
Following our recent brand refresh, the current template options are limited. However, we are in the process of updating them and will soon release a full suite of templates aligned with our new brand guidelines.

Remember that all major external communications materials MUST be checked by Media and Communications. This included reports, bulk mail outs, newspaper advertisements, flyers, etc. Email news@cgd.vic.gov.au with or visit the office.

How to use a document template
- Select the presentation from the list below, click on the link and it will download from Objective
- Save the template to your desktop, or other drive, renaming it appropriately
- Each template has been set up with a cover page and inner page. The cover image and header/footer image will look faded out when viewed in Word but will print and export to PDF in full colour (this helps lock the images in place, making the document easy to edit, without worrying about affecting these elements)
- The templates also include paragraph styles, which can be accessed in using the ‘styles’ palette
- If you wish to change the photo in the template - right click and select "change picture"
