The Study Assistance Policy outlines the eligibility criteria for staff to obtain support through leave and reimbursement of fees upon successful completion of subjects. Reimbursement fees are capped annually.
Study assistance is available to all permanent employees who have completed a minimum of 12 months' service with Council. Permanent part-time employees are also eligible on a pro-rata basis. Temporary employees engaged for a period greater than 2 years in duration and who will complete the proposed study within their period of employment, are also eligible.
If you wish to undertake supported study, you should first discuss your request with your supervisor and once approved, complete a Study Assistance application form to formalise the arrangement.
Note that there may be local procedures in your workplace in addition to the corporate Study Assistance policy. Your supervisor will let you know if this is the case.
