Corporate Training

Corporate Training Program - Empowering You for Success

At Council, we are dedicated to fostering the professional growth and development of our valued staff. Our Corporate Training Program offers a diverse range of opportunities, equipping staff with the skills they need to excel in their role and beyond.

We understand that staying informed about Council's training offerings is crucial for your professional development.  However, to make the most out of your journey, we encourage staff to not only explore Council's corporate offerings, but to also actively engage with their people leader to consider their Personal Development Plan (PDP) priorities, and how to best meet these learning and development goals.

Training and Development Opportunities - Plan Your Growth

Our training and development programs cover a wide spectrum of skills and knowledge, including but not limited to:

  1. Communication Skills: Enhance your ability to communicate effectively, both within the organization and with external stakeholders.

  2. Professional Development: Elevate your career prospects through training designed to boost leadership and management skills.

  3. Specialist Skills: Acquire specialized knowledge relevant to your job function, making you an expert in your field.

  4. I.T. Skills: Stay up to date with the latest technological advancements, ensuring you're proficient in essential software and tools.

  5. Leadership Development: Explore external leadership programs endorsed by the council to refine your leadership abilities.

  6. Corporate Systems and Procedures (including Compliance): Learn about the intricacies of our corporate systems and procedures, ensuring seamless integration into your daily tasks, while also understanding the critical compliance requirements that underpin our operations. This knowledge is essential to ensure that you and the organisation adhere to all necessary regulations, standards, and best practices.

  7. E-Learning: Access a variety of online resources and courses, allowing you to learn at your own pace and convenience.

Discuss and Plan with Your Leader - Stay Informed and Check

We understand that staying informed about our training and development opportunities is crucial. That's why we offer multiple ways to keep you up to date:

  1. Discuss with your People Leader: Engage in regular discussions with your leader about your development needs and how you are tracking. Share your aspirations and goals to align your growth with organizational objectives and your PDP and ask your people leaders to share opportunities that may come up in this space.
  2. Take ownership of your development: Keep an eye on upcoming internal and external opportunities that match your development goals. Together with your leader, identify the most suitable programs that align with your PDP.  Get creative, learning and development is not a one size fits all.
  3. Internal announcements - The Source: Keep up to date with announcements and updates on the Source - information and booking requirements for Corporate Programs will be advertised here.
