Council’s approved platform for videoconferencing is Microsoft Teams.
That means that all staff should be using Microsoft Teams when hosting internal and external online meetings, videoconferences or making telephone calls.
Teams has been selected as Council’s videoconferencing tool due to its robust security, rich features and seamless integration with Microsoft Office products - including our Microsoft Surface Hubs, which are now installed in most meeting rooms and will be extensively used when we return to the office.
Can I Use Other Videoconferencing Tools, such as Zoom?
Staff can attend Zoom meetings that are hosted by external contacts but are not permitted to host Zoom meetings.
Microsoft Teams and Zoom now have essentially the same features and have become widely accessible as a free download for all device types.
External contacts that are invited to attend your Teams meetings can download Microsoft Teams from the link below.
