In our ongoing efforts to understand and address the daily challenges faced by our dedicated teams, I recently participated in the "Walk in My Shoes" program with Dylan and Bo from the Hot Spot Hard Waste Team. This initiative allowed me to gain firsthand experience of the daily operations and the hard work that goes into keeping our streets clean and free of unsightly rubbish.
We drove around the standard worst affected streets, known as 'hot spots', where hard waste is frequently dumped. Our mission was to collect and remove this waste to ensure our community remains clean and welcoming. Fortunately, there was not too much to collect this time, as additional staff and trucks had recently been deployed to catch up on a backlog. This proactive approach has significantly improved the situation in these areas.
Throughout the visit, I learned a great deal about the challenges our hardworking crew faces. From navigating narrow streets to dealing with unexpected obstacles, Dylan and Bo demonstrated remarkable dedication and efficiency. Their commitment to maintaining the cleanliness of our community is truly commendable.
I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to Dylan, Bo and the entire Hot Spot Hard Waste Team for their incredible work. They play a crucial role in ensuring our streets are clean and safe for everyone. This experience has given me a deeper appreciation for the efforts of our waste management teams and the importance of supporting them in their vital work.
Let's continue to support and recognize the hard work of all our teams who strive to make our community a better place to live.
