We have a range of council venues that can be booked by staff for meetings, training sessions and seminars. And while we have an online booking system, the bit that was missing was a better way to display, sort and showcase these venues. We have addressed this in the new corporate website.
Venues for Hire page
The Venues for Hire page is designed to aid the community in finding the best venue for their hire needs, but staff can also benefit from using this functionality.
To start with we now have a page dedicated to each of our venues for hire. On these pages you will find a list of the venue facilities, hiring information, fees and an image showcase (for most venues) to give the hirer an idea of the spaces available.
The advantage that comes with creating a page for each venue is the improved searchability. Not just within in the site search though, it goes further with the facilities and suburb search filters on the page. See image 1 below.
With these filters you can search via a specific facility e.g. Meeting Rooms and/or via a suburb - narrowing down your options to only the venues within these requirements. See image 2 below.
Now that you have your venue of choice selected, you can move through the venue booking process as usual with Zipporah. Please note not all council venues for hire are available for staff hire.
