As Refugee Week comes to a close, staff are invited to support the Council-led Back Your Neighbour campaign, which advocates for community members aspiring to rebuild life and contribute to society.
The theme for #RefugeeWeek2025 is Finding Freedom: Diversity in Community.
We recognise that local government and communities play a key role in offering refugees safety, belonging and the strength to start a new life.

The Back Your Neighbour campaign is a unified voice advocating to the Federal Government, backed by over 40 local governments nationally. Collective advocacy efforts recently have contributed to permanent protection for 20,000 refugees living in the community.
