Sending References in Objective

laptop

Do you send Objective references only to find that staff cannot find the documents or files that you are trying to refer them to? Have you received a reference that you cannot open or that takes you to a screen that is unfamiliar to you?

This has been an increasing frustration for some staff as we are currently using two methods of logging into Objective. We now have a large number of staff using Objective via an internet browser, know as Objective IQ, while some staff are still accessing it via the Objective Navigator client.

To minimise confusion (and frustration), it is best for staff still on the Objective Navigator client to use the “Right-click, Send Reference” option when sending references. Sending references in this way leaves the weblink to the reference in the bottom of the email which will enable staff accessing Objective via the browser to access the intended reference.

If you purposely delete that link (or you use the drag-and-drop method to insert Objective references) staff using Objective via an internet browser will not be able to access what you are sending them. If they try to click on the attached OBR file they will have the Objective Navigator launch and they have not been trained in that software as it is gradually being phased out.

We hope this clarifies any questions that staff may have had in regards to sending Objective references. If you have any questions or need assistance please contact the IT Service Desk or contact our corporate systems trainer Claude Curelea on 8571 5107 or via Microsoft Teams.
