From Monday 28 February, we will start the gradual return to the workplace process for staff who have been working from home. The below FAQ sheet explains everything in detail including COVID safe practices, mask wearing and car park charges for those who are interested in parking at the Thomas Street Car Park. Some of the key information is below.
As always please speak to your team leader or manager if you have any questions or concerns.
Key dates
| Dates | Expectation |
|---|---|
| Monday 28 February - Friday 11 March | Staff currently working from home must return to the workplace at least 1 day per week. |
| Monday 14 March to Friday 25 March | Staff currently working from home must work at the workplace at least 2 days per week. |
| From Monday 28 March | Staff currently working from home must work at the workplace at least 3 days per week. This phase marks the start of establishing longer term. |
You can return to the workplace sooner if you want to or have particular needs but you need to discuss this with your manager first to ensure this is done in a coordinated and managed way.
Expected workplace attendance
| Permanent Days | Minimum days required in the workplace |
|---|---|
| 5 days per week | 3 days |
| 4 days per week | 3 days |
| 3 days per week | 2 days |
| 2 days per week | 1 day |
From time-to-time you might need to attend the workplace over and above the minimum required in cases where:
- Urgent matters arise where onsite presence is required
 - Operational or rostering requirements
 - The nature of your role requires in-person attendance in the workplace
 - Where working remotely places more pressure on other team members
 - To maintain department service levels and customer service

Importantly managers need to balance staffing levels over 5 days to ensure business continuity and customer service. Your manager or team leader will consult you about this.
Stay home if you are unwell
Gone are the days, probably forever, when ‘soldiering on’ and popping some cold/flu tablets was the brave thing to do. These days, brave looks like being honest about any COVID symptoms.
Symptoms include:
- fever
 - chills or sweats
 - cough
 - sore throat
 - shortness of breath
 - runny nose
 - loss or change in sense of smell or taste

If you are feeling unwell, or have any COVID like symptoms, no matter how minor, do not go attend work. Instead, get tested and stay home and isolated until you receive a negative result.
Please let your manager or supervisor know and keep them updated about your test result. You may be entitled to COVID leave whilst isolating.
