Dandenong Civic Centre

QR Code Sign In for Staff

Qr code scanning

As of 27 March all staff will be required to sign into the office upon arrival.

Why are we changing?

It was announced that the current Chief Health Officer’s restrictions would ease on Friday 26 March. Crucial to these changes is that from 27 March 2021, organisations using electronic record-keeping must only use a QR Code that is connected to the State Government.

What is changing?

Everyone who visits our sites must scan a QR code when entering our facilities. Every site has one QR code with the exception of the Dandenong Civic Centre. Meeting rooms that can be accessed by the public at the Civic Centre (eg Council Chambers, meeting rooms on level 2, 3, 4 and 5) have a separate code. This is to mitigate the risk of having to shut down the whole Civic Centre if we have a member of the public (who is COVID positive) enter the building.

The only exception is the public who come to our customer service counters at Dandenong and Parkmore. Typically those customers are not there for longer than 15 minutes and are exempt under the directions.

What do you have to do?

When you arrive at work you will need to scan the QR code and check in.

Anyone with a smart phone can also register any number of other people.

Do I have to scan a QR code every time I leave my building and come back or visit another site?

For all staff, scanning once when you first arrive at any site is sufficient for that day. However, if you visit multiple sites a day, you will have to scan for each site. Just as you would if you visited a café or any other organisation.

Dandenong Civic Centre additional requirements

If you have a meeting with an external person in any of the meeting rooms in the Civic Centre you must ask the non-staff attendees to register at the start of the meeting using the QR codes unique to each meeting room. Your guests do not have to sign into the building as well, only the meeting room you’re using. This additional requirement is for BCP considerations for the Civic Centre.
