Over the last couple of months there has been a lot of work happening in the policy space. Many of Council’s internal and external policies are out of date and in need of updating as soon as possible.
The Governance team has been working on a number of initiatives to help us get back on track and ensure compliance with all of the required legislation. A workplan has been developed in consultation with departments to bring everything up to date by the end of February 2026 and a number of new resources have been developed to help staff with all things policy related.
We now have a one stop shop where you can get information on developing and reviewing policies; steps for approval; how to get a policy abolished; and information on Gender Impact Assessments.
