One Greater Dandenong Shout Out for our Youth team for inclusion of youth in the disability inclusion program.
Hi Stephen and Esther and Madeleine,
Thanks again for including us in this amazing All Abilities Inclusive Youth event.
Since Covid, our students do not get out very often into the community, and even then, it is usually a presentation tailored to them. So, it is often more like a classroom lecture in a different location.
To be involved in an event like today which interacts across the community in such a dynamic way is so real.
Thanks to your excellent training, the students had grown a lot and were able to adjust to the living situation well. It also gave us the opportunity to see our students in a different light and to be able to acknowledge strengths we had not seen before.
It is also a privilege to work with a team like yours where everyone works with young people and knows how to interact with them in such an empowering way. I spoke to the girls who ended up doing some MC work after previously saying they wouldn’t. They said it was because of the motivating and encouraging words of your Jim.
Thanks so much.
You will be pleased to know other students in Hakea House ate all the sausages as they headed home.
All the best
Jim
