On Wednesday 21 May, Springvale Library hosted National Simultaneous Storytime. Each year a location is chosen, and the event is live streamed to millions of children across the world.
Vanessa Gigliotti, Library Partnerships and Engagement Coordinator, expressed her gratitude to the many staff members that contributed to the success.
"Shout out to dozens of Council staff from Libraries, Cultural and Community Hubs and Communications. Thank you to each and every one of you for the part you played in making the National Simultaneous Storytime livestream event a huge success at Springvale Community Hub yesterday! We hosted the author and 180 visitors and it was streamed across Australia and to 20+ countries around the world. It went off without a hitch, promoting the joys of books, reading and stories.
"2,204,698 participants tuned in from libraries, schools, kindergartens, childcare centres and homes across Australia, with a further 180 onsite at the Hub on the day. Every bit of contribution, guidance and support was appreciated and truly made a difference. Your enthusiasm and dedication helped create a memorable experience for everyone involved. We look forward to many more successful events in the future. Thank you once again for your incredible support!"
