Over the last year we have experienced Heatwaves, Storms, Floods, Industrial Fires and many residential fires in Greater Dandenong.
As some of you know, Council has a legislated role in Victoria’s Emergency Management arrangements. We provide a 24/7 response to support Emergency Services when they need our help, and we are the lead provider of Relief and Recovery services.
To understand your involvement, you are invited to attend a series of information and training sessions between now and November.

About the facilitator - Craig Shepherd
These sessions will be facilitated by Craig Shepherd, the principal consultant at Shepherd Consulting Services (SCS). He has 32 years of law enforcement (current serving Superintendent within Victoria Police) and industry experience including a broad range of expertise in operational and specialist work units.
Craig is also a nationally acknowledged expert in the field of exercise design, development, delivery and evaluation and has been a national instructor for the Exercise Management Capability as part of the Australia New Zealand Counter Terrorism Committee (ANZCTC) for over 10 years. In January 2020 Craig was tasked by the Commissioner of Emergency Management Victoria and the Chief Commissioner of Victoria Police to undertake the role of Statewide Operations Commander for the 2020 Victorian Bushfires Mallacoota Rescue, where 4000 people were trapped on the beaches of Mallacoota.
