Chief People Officer
You may have heard via your people leaders that Mike Strong, interim Chief People Officer resigned last week.
Mike came for a short time for a very specific Industrial Relations role and ended up staying longer in our interim Chief People Officer position. We wish him well in his next endeavours.
Marjan will be working closely with the People & Change team until we’re in a position to permanently fill that role, which we hope will be in the near future.
Manager, Community Amenity
We also accepted the resignation of Luke Mullen recently. Mel White has been capably acting in his role for many months and will continue to do so at this stage.
I’m currently considering the options around recruitment for that role and we will let everyone know in due course when it is to be advertised. In the meantime I would appreciate everyone continuing to give Mel their full support as she continues to act in the role.
Executive Planning workshop
On Friday, the Executive team had a planning session. We considered the Council Plan 2025-29, which is still in draft but will be presented to Councillors shortly.
We’ve considering our strategy for the coming four years, and the direction we’re headed in to deliver what our community needs. I’ll be giving an update on this at my CEO Town Hall briefings scheduled for next week on 13, 14 and 15 May. Please make sure you’re booked in to attend one.
