Council has recently re-established its Sponsor status with the Commonwealth Department of Home Affairs which provides Council with the opportunity to recruit and, where appropriate, employ overseas candidates who qualify for Skilled Migration Visas.
Managers across Council now have the ability to recruit overseas candidates into hard-to-fill vacancies, where these applicants have the qualifications, skills and/or experience matched to a Commonwealth Government list of Skilled Occupations.
These candidates may already have travelled to Australia, or are proposing to migrate to Australia, and be looking for employers to sponsor them under the Skilled Migration Visa scheme.
