These guidelines detail the process for appointing and remunerating staff selected to temporarily act in higher banded positions. The guidelines cover all CGD staff and include information on acting arrangements for manager and executive director positions.
Appointment and approval process
Business Unit Leaders are responsible for ensuring the requirements of these guidelines are met.
For banded positions expressions of interest must be sought and appointments based on merit. Ideally, candidates will be assessed against the key selection criteria of the higher banded position. Remuneration will usually be paid at the commencement level of the higher position.
Appointments to manager positions will be at the discretion of the relevant Executive Director. Employees acting in manager positions are to be paid at a minimum 80 per cent of their usual total salary package.
The CEO has discretion to make appointments to and rates of pay for Executive Director/CEO positions.
